A prominent rental company is seeking an Assistant Financial Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial records while assisting the Financial Manager in overseeing all financial operations. As the Assistant Financial Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Preparing management accounts, including budgets, forecasts, cash flows, variance analysis, and detailed commentaries.
  • Ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Developing financial forecasts and preparing annual budgets.
  • Meeting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines.
  • Completing annual tax packs and managing income and expenditure control.
  • Conducting monthly variance analysis of financial statements.
  • Ensuring compliance with tax legislation and reviewing creditor payments on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Preparing month-end journals and overseeing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Resolving balance sheet reconciliation discrepancies within 30 days.
  • Completing VAT returns and ensuring VAT reasonability.
  • Balancing weekly inter-divisional loan accounts.
  • Developing and implementing financial controls and procedures.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external auditors.
  • Communicating effectively with branches regarding queries, orders, and more.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimize costs and enhance revenue.
  • Building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships to support operational goals.
  • Managing and developing direct reports, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conducting timely performance evaluations and providing ongoing feedback and support.

Qualifications:
Completed Bcom Hons in Finance
Completed articles (SAIPA or SAICA)
2 years supervisory/team management experience within a financial environment
Sage x3 is preferred
Highly proficient in Excel
