Description:
An established engineering firm is looking for an experienced Resident Engineer – Road Pavement Works to join their site team in Durban. This role involves overseeing the construction of a SANRAL National Road, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise road construction activities, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and proactively address risks or delays.

Manage contractors and subcontractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant project execution.

Provide technical expertise and problem-solving support to the team.
-
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and designs for accurate implementation.

Maintain communication with stakeholders, including engineers, clients, and regulatory bodies.

Prepare and submit progress reports, quality control documentation, and site records.
Requirements
-
ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist (mandatory).
-
SACPCMP PrCPM registration (advantageous).
-
Minimum 10 years' experience in road reconstruction/rehabilitation projects.
-
Experience with SANRAL or municipal road projects (highly advantageous).

Knowledge of SANRAL design compliance standards required.

Strong understanding of COLTO/COTO specifications and Bill of Quantities .

Experience with continuously reinforced concrete pavements (advantageous).

Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite .

Valid driver’s license required.

Preference will be given to candidates from the Zulu ethnic group in line with employment equity policies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English (verbal and written) .
