Description:


  • We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to deliver the one-year 2025 project portfolio. The Project Engineer will provide overall technical support to the project manager, to execute projects across the brewery. This will require establishing relationships with internal and external customers to achieve successful project execution

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance to the applicable Occupational Health & Safety Act on assigned projects
  • Ensure Safety, Health, and Environment legislation compliance, on assigned projects
  • Maintain a safe work environment on assigned project sites across the brewery, in accordance with both the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the Safety & Environmental VPO Pillar system
  • Develop scope documents for projects, with reference to the company's global technical standards
  • Manage request for quote process, including technical clarifications and adjudications as required
  • Review engineering design drawings with internal and external customers confirming acceptance and obtaining sign off from customers
  • Develop project equipment list
  • Lead design reviews and obtaining sign off from customers
  • Lead Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP). Manage HAZOP documentation
  • Lead factory acceptance testing as well as performance acceptance testing
  • Manage equipment delivery to site
  • Lead management of day to day on site construction as per the project plan agreed with the project manager
  • Collaborate with the project manager with regards to schedule compliance
  • Lead the resolving of technical design issues that arise in a timeously manner
  • Lead the commissioning team during commissioning and start up
  • Participate in the management of change process, update required documentation
  • Lead the development of the maintenance requirements for hand over
  • Lead technical handover to operations once commissioning is completed
  • Complete administrative tasks, as requested by the project manager
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary


Requirements:
  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical), or Btech in (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical)
  • Competent with the Microsoft office and Microsoft Project
  • Project management knowledge, project management qualification
  • Knowledge of industrial safety rules and regulations
  • Engineering knowledge skills required in a FMCG environment
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience, preferably in an engineering /project environment.
  • Experience in working in an industrial or FMCG environment
  • Good presentation, report drafting, and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all levels in the brewery
Salary Package:
R30 to R40K per month cost to company
