We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our team and directly support our Financial Manager.As the Financial Accountant, you will manage the financial operations of both the restaurant and convenience store. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting budgeting processes, and providing analysis to enhance profitability while maintaining regulatory compliance. You will also assist with administrative tasks within the property division.
As a Financial Accountant at this premier packaging supplier, you will be responsible for the following:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring clarity and precision. Month-End Close: Manage month-end processes, including sales, inventory, creditors, and cash entries. Reconcile month-end reports and verify debtors reconciliations. VAT Compliance: Ensure proper VAT allocations and compliance with all applicable regulations. Creditors & Debtors Management: Oversee creditors reconciliations, process timely payments, resolve any queries, and ensure accurate debtors reconciliations and sales adjustments. Cash Management: Supervise the petty cash, record daily cash-ups, and ensure adequate cash flow for both the restaurant and convenience store. Profitability & Cost Control: Implement strategies to boost profit margins, optimize pricing, and reduce waste. Stock & Inventory Management: Regularly assess stock, enforce controls, manage stock expiry and wastage, and implement cost-reduction initiatives. Wastage Control: Minimize waste by updating recipe costs and optimizing inventory management. Systems Oversight: Ensure operational efficiency within financial systems (MDA, Pilot for the restaurant, and Odyssey for the convenience store) and consistently review reports. Staff Management: Lead and nurture a high-performing team, oversee payroll processes in collaboration with HR, ensure legal compliance, and maintain a positive work environment. Service Quality: Maintain high service standards to ensure an exceptional customer experience. Compliance & Regulations: Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Previous experience in property finance Relevant BCom/Diploma or financial qualification preferred Proficiency in MS Excel Familiarity with MDA/MRI property management software Valid drivers license and own transport
