Description:

The Group Procurement Manager is to oversee the procurement function for our collection of luxury properties across South Africa. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our properties benefit from group buying power while maintaining the highest standards of luxury and quality.


KEY FOCUS AREAS

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

  • Develop and implement a centralised procurement strategy to leverage the group’s buying power.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best value for money without compromising quality and luxury standards.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and partners.
  • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved supplier terms.

Luxury Product Selection

  • Curate and source high-quality, luxury products that align with the brand's identity.
  • Ensure that all products and services reflect the premium standards expected by high-end guests.

Logistics & Supply Chain Management

  • Manage the supply chain to ensure efficient and timely delivery to remote properties.
  • Develop contingency plans for logistical challenges in remote locations.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without overstocking.

Cost Management & Value Creation

  • Analyse procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Support operational efficiency by aligning procurement with business needs.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal standards and company policies.
  • Mitigate potential risks through effective supplier vetting and contract management.

Technology & Administrative Oversight

  • Implement and manage procurement systems to improve efficiency and tracking.
  • Oversee all procurement-related documentation and reporting.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with various departments to understand and fulfil their procurement requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between operational teams and suppliers to ensure smooth processes.

REQUIREMENTS - QAULIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business and/or Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a senior procurement role, ideally within the luxury hospitality or high-end retail sector.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing value for money.
  • A deep understanding of luxury products and services.
  • Excellent logistical skills, particularly in managing deliveries to remote locations.
  • High level of proficiency in procurement, inventory and POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, administrative, organisational and reporting and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
