Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Relevant technical or engineering qualification (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred) Minimum 5 years experience in a Maintenance / Workshop Management role within an industrial, manufacturing, or processing environment. Knowledge of the Hide, Skin, Leather and Wool Industries would be advantageous Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, particularly with heavy-duty machinery. Hands-on experience with fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs
Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repairs of all plant machinery, processing equipment, and infrastructure. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and ensure timely resolution. Establish and implement a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime. Source and coordinate external contractors and service providers when necessary. Workshop Management Supervise workshop staff, including technicians, mechanics, and maintenance personnel. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, health regulations, and company policies. Maintain stock levels of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency and lifespan. Operational & Compliance Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Maintain maintenance records and ensure proper documentation of all repairs and servicing. Monitor operational costs and optimize resource allocation to improve efficiency.
