Electrical Assistant

Our client has been a leader in the renewable energy industry for over a decade, providing solar energy solutions to residential, commercial, and agricultural sectors. They are seeking a dedicated Electrical Assistant to join their team at their Head Office in Diep River.
This role requires a hands-on individual who is willing to assist with various electrical tasks, including site preparation, wiring, solar panel installation, and general maintenance. The ideal candidate is a team player, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 07h45 - 17h00
Minimum Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) Minimum 1 year of proven experience in the electrical industry Basic understanding of electricity and solar energy Knowledge of hand tool management and the ability to use hand tools and light machinery Experience in cement/concrete mixing Valid driver’s license Police clearance certificate
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in digging trenches, planting poles, and laying electrical cables Conduct chasing and cutting of walls and concrete floors for conduit installation Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and storage Check, pack, and maintain tools and equipment Strip redundant electrical installations and equipment Clean and maintain the workshop, installation sites, office, and vehicles Assist with the installation of flush and surface-mounted wireways Install and secure electrical cables, including gland fitting and making off connections Support the installation of solar panels, batteries, and inverters under the guidance of the team leader Provide assistance during callouts and maintenance tasks Perform other general duties as directed by the Team Leader
