Cost and Management Accountant - Contractual FTCOur client based in Midrand, is on a recruitment drive for Cost & Management Accountant to join their financial department on a 3-month FTC.Our client is a leading contract manufacturing partner in home and personal care, dedicated to innovation, sustainability and operational excellence. If you pride yourself on being detailed-orientated and analytical, Cost and Management Accountant. This role is crucial in analysing production costs, enhancing financial efficiency, and implementing effective cost controls to drive profitability. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:Cost & Financial AnalysisDevelop and maintain accurate costing models for raw materials, labour and overheadMonitor and analyse cost variances, identifying areas for cost savingsImplement standard costing systems and conduct variance analysisProvide profitability insights for different product lines and customer contractsTrack and analyse product costs weekly for operational visibilityBudgeting & Forecasting:Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecastsConduct variance analysis and ensure accuracy in cost estimationsprovide financial insights to support operational decision-makingFinancial & Management Reporting:Prepare cost reports, budget comparisons and margin analysisDevelop dashboards and KPI's to track financial and operational performanceEnsure timely and accurate month-end closing and reportingERP & Process Optimization:Support ERP system implementation and optimization for cost and inventory managementIdentify inefficiencies and suggest process improvementsCollaborate with production, procurement and finance teams to enhance cost efficiencyCompliance and Risk ManagementEnsure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls and company policiesparticipate in internal and external audits by providing cost and financial data Education & Qualification:- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- CIMA, SAICA, SAIPA or ACCA qualification (essential)
- 5 years in cost and management accounting - of which 3 years need to be in a manufacturing / FMCG environment
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, cost accounting principles and financial modelling
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Financial analysis tools
- Detail orientated with strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Strong teamwork and cross functional collaboration skills
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
