Arrow Academy has an opportunity for a passionate and dedicated English teacher for our Grades 6 and 7 classes. You must have a strong background in English literature, grammar, and writing. You will be responsible for creating and implementing engaging lesson plans that meet the needs and interests of Arrow learners.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Education (Intermediate Senior Phase).
- 2+ years experience in a similar role.
- English native speaker fluency in both verbal and written communication.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ClassDojo.
DUTIES
- Set age-appropriate, subject-related goals and expectations for learners.
- Engage in teaching that fosters purposeful progression in learning, and which is consistent with the learning areas and programmes of subjects and grades as determined.
- Establish a classroom environment that stimulates positive learning and actively engages learners.
- Coordinate and control all academic activities of the subject.
- Promote learning through various questioning and discussion techniques.
- Plan, coordinate, control, evaluate, and report on learners’ academic progress
- Keep your observations clear and up-to-date throughout the term.
- Provide interventions and learner support when needed.
- Meet with learners’ parents to discuss learners’ conduct and progress.
- Contribute to the professional development of colleagues by sharing knowledge, ideas, and resources.
