Job Title: Head of Engineering

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to lead our technical team. This role is critical in defining the technical direction of the company and ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of projects. Our technology stack includes Node.js for backend services, React for frontend web development, React Native for mobile applications, and MongoDB for data storage. We use other tools like Retool, and all our systems are hosted on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Team Development: Manage, mentor, and grow a talented engineering team. Cultivate an inclusive and high-performance engineering culture.
• Technical Direction and Strategy: Define, implement, and oversee the technical roadmap in alignment with the company’s business goals. Keep the team focused on engineering excellence, scalability, and performance.
• Project Management: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality. Collaborate closely with product, design, and other departments to drive seamless workflows.
• System Architecture and Development: Oversee and guide the architecture, development, and deployment of software systems and applications using our technology stack.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure rigorous testing, code reviews, and documentation practices are in place. Drive quality standards for all product releases.
• Infrastructure and Security: Collaborate with DevOps to ensure system reliability, scalability, and security, especially on AWS.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate new technologies, tools, and best practices, incorporating them into the tech stack when beneficial.
• Stakeholder Communication: Report to leadership on engineering goals, progress, and technical risks. Foster strong communication channels across departments.

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with a solid track record in building scalable web and mobile applications.
• 3+ years in a leadership role, such as Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering.
• Deep expertise in our technology stack: Node.js, React, React Native, MongoDB, and AWS.

• Strong people management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams.
• Proven experience in team scaling, process improvements, and establishing effective engineering practices.
• Project and Product Management:
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other teams to build and deliver products.
