BESS Technical Sales Manager

Description:

The Technical Salesperson will be responsible for the sales of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) through the building of strong commercial relationships with clients, implementing a strategic account approach to develop partnerships and being the voice of the customer in the organization.

Sales & Bidding preparation and Key Account Management for the Sub-Saharan Africa Region
Building relationships with prospective customers to identify information for the development of business opportunities
Review Request for Quotations (RFQ) tender documents, focusing on both commercial and technical aspects of RFQ with the proposal team
Develop a full understanding of Battery Energy Storage technology platforms and its capabilities to provide customers with technology support and superior competitive offers
Capture the customer’s commercial and technical requirements as well as problems to be solved, to help define a fit for purpose solution for the customer
Support/Manage awarded projects and coordinate with construction teams

Requirements:

Qualifications
N.Dip/B.Tech/B.Sc degree, preferably in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and post grad qualification
Minimum Experience
7+ years related experience or equivalent in sales or technical sales in the energy sector (Sub-Saharan Africa)
Competencies

Basic understanding of power equipment, BESS, renewable energy, and turnkey project
Related energy project experience in utilities or private energy sector will be an advantage
Review the RFQ, obtain and prepare clarifications, and preparing bidding proposals
Coordination work with internal/external stakeholders to ensure a successful value delivery
Basic understanding of structure, operations, and capital plans of potential customers such as the relevant Utility, IPPs, and municipalities as well as good understanding of the Commercial & Industrial energy markets of targeted countries in Sub-Saharan Africa
Has a relationship with utilities and various EPC & IPP companies in South Africa are preferred
Basic document reporting skills and experienced in using MS Office programs and tools
