Company and Job Description:The Junior Group Tax Manager will assist in managing the tax affairs of the Group in compliance with legislation and the Group-wide strategy. This role requires a highly competent and adaptive individual with strong business acumen, as the Group operates across multiple sectors, including financial services, insurance and motor retail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee tax compliance, liaising with SARS on audits, queries, and timely filing of returns.
- Monitor tax legislation changes and support implementation.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensuring accurate tax reporting and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review tax calculations, financial statement disclosures, and Board reports.
- Streamline tax processes using technology.
- Provide tax advice, support audits, and facilitate tax-driven business initiatives.
- Lead and mentor the tax team, driving performance and accountability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- BCom Honours in Accounting or Registered CA(SA)
- 5+ years corporate tax experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of tax law, IFRS, and advanced Excel
- Financial Services, Insurance and or Banking is highly beneficial.
