Minimum requirements for the role:
A matric with a chemical degree or diploma or related qualification is preferred but not essential for the role. Previous experience having worked within a key accounts or related sales role selling a range of industrial chemicals or coatings experience into the automotive and beverage canning manufacturing industries is preferred for the role. Previous sales experience having called on customers within the metal / surface treatment and or beverage can manufacturing industry is preferred but not essential. Strong knowledge of industrial chemicals, metal treatments, industrial / automotive coatings, or surface treatments and their applications in various industries. Proven ability to generate new business, close sales, and meet or exceed sales targets. Ability to understand and communicate complex technical information effectively to customers. Must have an understanding of price and margin management. Must have technical expertise, able to understand process flows within an industrial environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Managing existing key accounts and identifying new clients by developing new product portfolios within the beverage can and automotive manufacturing and metal working fluids and surface treatment markets. Maintaining a deep understanding of the companys portfolio of products, including industrial chemicals, metal treatments, and surface coatings. Controlling stock and demand forecasts at customer sites and at consignment stores in conjunction with customers. Technically assisting key account customers on the use of products as well as conducting line trials on customer sites etc. Achieving monthly sales and profit targets to ensure budgeted price and profit levels are achieved and maintained. Complying with defined environmental and quality procedures and identifying customer environmental and quality requirements and expectations in due time. Participating in meetings at customers when required and ensure completion of agreed tasks within agreed timeframes. Providing technical expertise to customers, ensuring the correct product selection and application. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
