KEY OBJECTIVES: To professionally identify, assess, implement, and manage continual improvement initiatives of internal processes and procedures within Fry’s Metals operations located in Wadeville. Reduce the cost of waste, labour and drive best practice and ensure we operate to optimum throughput/output. Improve productivity initiatives with the identification of modern technology and streamline processes. Reports to: Continuous Improvement Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Degree / National Diploma – Industrial Engineering / Operations or similar technical. Some experience within Lean / Six Sigma will be advantageous. Avid Lean Practitioner with demonstrated experience in the deployment of a range of lean tools. Ability to present and communicate new ideas. Ability to coach, mentor and training of teams and individuals. Experience with Microsoft suite particularly Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge/Experience of data analysis. REQUIREMENTS Communicate and drive policy deployment and the CI roadmap. Coordinate the CI efforts in the business by leading and administering systems. Support CI efforts by facilitating, training, coaching, developing individuals & teams across all disciplines. Ensure appropriate skills are in place to support Continuous Improvement business culture. Deploy appropriate Lean tools across all departments in the business. Develop & conduct compliance audits, evaluations & reviews to drive results. Good interpersonal skills. Good communication skills, written and verbal. Able to remain positive and realistic. Ability to work with cross functional teams.
