Description:

Hire Resolve's Client are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Audit Manager to lead and oversee a team of accounting and audit professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client engagements, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving the overall success of the firm. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for training and developing junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Management: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of approximately 10 audit and accounting professionals. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring service delivery aligns with client expectations, timelines, and budgets. Address client concerns proactively and ensure high-quality service.
  • Technical Review & Compliance: Review CaseWare working papers and ensure accurate processing in Xero and Sage One . Ensure compliance with IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Project Planning & Allocation: Participate in weekly planning meetings with the Board of Directors to allocate projects effectively, track deadlines, and ensure efficient resource management.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Maintain high-quality audit and accounting standards by implementing quality control measures and ensuring adherence to firm policies.
  • Business Development & Recruitment: Assist in marketing initiatives and contribute to the recruitment of new staff, particularly trainee accountants.
  • Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to ACCA/SAIPA clerks and junior staff, fostering their professional growth and technical competence.
  • Additional Duties: Execute other tasks as required by the Board of Directors to support the firm’s operations and growth.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Professional Certification: Registered Professional Accountant (SA), Associate General Accountant (AGA), or ACCA member.
  • Experience:
  • Completed articles.
  • Minimum 3-5 years post-articles experience in auditing/accounting.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring audit and accounting teams.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs .
  • Proficiency in CaseWare, Xero, and Sage One .
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for training and developing junior professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role within a public accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with local tax regulations and compliance standards.
