Description:
Extensive experience in high-density, multi-storey residential apartment buildings as well as low-density residential housing units, including associated buildings and structures
Responsible for the design and detailing of various structural elements, including:
Pile foundations such as driven end-bearing piles and augered friction grip piles
Raft foundations, brickwork, and reinforced concrete retaining walls
Reinforced concrete foundations, columns, beams, and diverse slab systems (block and lintel, in-situ, precast, and prestressed precast)
Structural steel components, including portal frames, trusses, rafters, columns, beams, cross-bracing, purlin design, and connection detailing
Review architectural plans and coordinate structural layouts
Perform modeling, load assessments, structural analysis, and design of masonry, reinforced concrete, and steel structures using both hand calculations and design software
Develop comprehensive drawings, layouts, sections, and bending schedules
Compile technical reports and method statements
Conduct site inspections and take measurements
Participate in planning and technical site meetings
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years experience
Proficient in AutoCAD and Prokon
Must understand Afrikaans
Qualification:
BTech in Civil Engineering (Structures)
Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
