Job Opening: Market Risk AnalystWe are currently seeking a talented Market Risk Analyst to join our client's Risk Department. This independent role is crucial in overseeing and controlling front-line trading activities. The team plays a vital part in helping senior management fully comprehend the risk-reward dynamics of trading books while ensuring precise valuation of physical exposures, such as oil cargoes, electricity generation, and gas deliveries. The Market Risk Analyst will be responsible for monitoring the embedded risks within the company's portfolio and ensuring alignment with the company's risk tolerance. Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, assess, and monitor risks across assigned portfolios.
• Create and update risk reports to track key risks, adjusting them based on changing market conditions.
• Take the lead in coordinating, implementing, evolving, and communicating risk reports.
• Work closely with traders and the team to understand market positioning and prevailing conditions.
• Develop and execute customized stress tests for various market scenarios, sharing findings with senior management and commercial teams.
• Define and track predictive risk scenarios to help management and traders understand the portfolio's positioning as market conditions evolve.
• Utilize Python programming and data visualization tools (such as Tableau/PowerBI) to display key metrics on daily dashboards.
• Evaluate a broad spectrum of transactions, providing modeling and analytical insights where needed.
• Clearly communicate findings and insights to traders and senior management.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred, particularly in Finance or Risk Management).
• Postgraduate qualifications in Finance or Risk Management are a plus.

Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience in Market Risk analysis.
• Experience in commodities, especially oil or gas, is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong proficiency in Python coding.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on numerical analysis.
• Outstanding communication skills.
• Ability to challenge proposals constructively while maintaining effective working relationships.
• A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines, while delivering practical business solutions.
