Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marketing and Sales Manager to drive the sales and marketing strategy for our strata control products in the mining sector across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic leadership and direct customer management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of underground roof support systems, specifically cable anchors, and will be responsible for guiding and supporting the sales team while maintaining key client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities for strata control products, expanding our customer base in the mining industry. Customer Relationship Management: Directly manage a portfolio of key clients while mentoring and supporting the sales team in handling other accounts. Marketing Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns to position our products effectively in the mining sector. Technical Consultation: Provide technical advice and product demonstrations to clients, showcasing the benefits of our strata control solutions. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the sales team, setting sales targets, tracking performance, and providing strategic guidance. Industry Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including mining engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers. Market Analysis and Strategy Development: Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activities, and industry trends. Travel: Be prepared to travel extensively within South Africa and across sub-Saharan Africa to visit clients and support the sales team.Duties:
Propose marketing and sales strategies and once approved by Exco, implement as deliver results. Take ownership and maximise value delivered by the organisation’s CRM; Market and sell strata control and drill products; Manage the Marketing & Sales budget and ensure that all monies spent is done so with best value in mind at all times; Lead and manage the performance of the marketing and sales team (Marketing Representatives and Technical Support Staff); Mentor and guide team members – to ensure that team members are positive, focused and well trained at all times; Identify new products & services, research the feasibility of thereof and support development and lead commercialization; Assist in the development of training material that facilitates the safe and efficient use of products and promotes the brand Manage the customer training at sites – on surface and underground.
