Description:

Purpose: Maintain and repair plant equipment and machinery to ensure smooth production. Support improvements through design, modification, and installation of new machinery. Adhere to ISO 9001 quality management standards. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the factory's maintenance schedule.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities.
  • Suggest improvements for planned maintenance.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Oversee calibration by external contractors.
  • Conduct daily machine set-ups to meet production goals.
  • Handle job cards, breakdowns, fault-finding, and repairs.
  • Update maintenance records and reports.
  • Optimize production through electrical modifications.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and advise on needed replacements.
  • Source spare parts and secure quotations.
  • Commission and validate equipment.
  • Handle general building maintenance.
  • Treat effluent to meet municipal standards.
  • Act as a Health & Safety Representative.
  • Support the Spill Team in handling spills.
  • Provide electrical support to Sales Reps.
  • Prepare and submit monthly SHEQ reports.
  • Train others to enhance skills.
  • Reduce downtime through root cause analysis.
  • Maintain compliance for audits.
  • Manage contractors and projects.
  • Follow Health and Safety laws and company policies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Millwright Trade Test.
  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and electro-pneumatics.
  • Pump and motor repairs.
  • Basic PLC knowledge.
  • Instrumentation and calibration.
  • Building maintenance.
  • Proficiency with hand and electrical tools.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001.

Computer Skills:
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
