Description:
Our client is looking for a Maintenance Assistant with experience in the Beverage Industry to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will assist the Artisan or Maintenance Technician with machinery maintenance, inspections, and general upkeep to ensure the efficient operation of the factory.
Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-maintenance checks and report any irregularities or faults on factory machinery.
- Conduct start-up checks on the boiler, including water and fuel levels, and report any leaks.
- Assist with maintenance and repairs of machinery, ensuring proper functioning and safe operation.
- Conduct routine fault checks and assist in commissioning new machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop and storeroom, ensuring proper storage of tools and chemicals.
- Monitor stock levels of maintenance supplies and facilitate reordering when necessary.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, reporting any potential contamination risks.
- Attend training and medical checks as required.
Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 qualification.
- N1 or N2 Mechanical Certificate.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a machinery maintenance role.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50kg.
- Ability to work in dusty areas and confined spaces.
- Willingness to work shift hours.
- Forklift license (advantageous).
- Basic computer literacy (advantageous).
- Salary: negotiable.
