Our client, a well-established sheet metal manufacturing company in Cape Town, is looking for a skilled Junior Mechanical Draftsman to join their team. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision engineering, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Job & Company Description:In this role, you will be responsible for draughting client product drawings, creating detailed designs and drawings for products and sub-assemblies, and determining BOM cut sizes based on designs. You will draw flat stages for bending and punching, as well as design manufacturing assembly and welding jigs to ensure precision and efficiency. Maintaining drawing folders, designing and documenting existing tooling, and assisting with the design of machines and machine parts for maintenance requirements will also be key aspects of your role. Additionally, you will support technical problem-solving during production or product development and may be required to assist in programming CNC punching machines as part of your professional development.
Education:
- National Certificate in Engineering Draughting
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication (preferred)
- Proficiency in Inventor or SolidWorks (advantageous)
- Experience with punching programs for CNC punching machines (advantageous)
- Strong technical drawing and design skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
