Job Title: Financial ManagerLocation: MeyertonReports to: CEOOffice based position Monday to Friday with working hours 08:00 to 17:00Job Purpose:The Financial Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization by managing financial planning, reporting, risk management, and decision support. This role involves managing a team of financial professionals, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant laws.
    • Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to create comprehensive budgets.
    • Prepare financial forecasts and provide regular updates to senior management.
    • Monitor budget performance and control expenses to ensure alignment with financial goals.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor cash flow and ensure sufficient liquidity for business operations.
    • Develop strategies for optimizing working capital and managing cash flow efficiently.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain internal control procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
    • Ensure the company is compliant with tax laws and regulations.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure the company has adequate insurance coverage and risk management policies in place.
  • Strategic Planning and Decision Support:
    • Collaborate with senior management in developing long-term financial strategies.
    • Provide financial insights to guide business decisions, including cost-benefit analysis, profitability assessments, and investment evaluations.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor the finance team, ensuring high levels of performance and professional development.
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Financial Acumen: Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial data, recognize trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring high accuracy in all financial reports and analyses.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Strong team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop a finance team.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying financial issues and finding solutions.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with financial software and advanced Excel skills (e.g., Excel formulas, macros, pivot tables).
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required). A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) is an advantage.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial management or a related role, with proven leadership experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience in food manufacturing industry is a plus.
