We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team at a renowned seafood restaurant located at the Cape Town Waterfront. The ideal candidate will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and managing staff performance.Key Responsibilities:Operational Management:Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and excellence.Monitor service standards, ensuring a consistently high-quality dining experience.Coordinate reservations, seating arrangements, and guest flow.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.Customer Service:Uphold exceptional service standards, handling guest inquiries and complaints professionally.Foster strong relationships with regular guests and ensure personalized service.Resolve service issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.Staff Management & Training:Supervise and support front-of-house staff, ensuring teamwork and productivity.Assist in staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.Motivate and inspire team members to deliver outstanding customer service.Financial & Inventory Control:Assist in cost control, stock management, and ordering of supplies.Monitor budgets, sales targets, and expenses in coordination with the Restaurant Manager.Support cash-up and daily reconciliation processes.Marketing & Promotions:Collaborate with management to drive promotional activities and special events.Maintain a strong presence on the floor to enhance brand image and guest engagement.- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar Assistant Restaurant Manager or supervisory role in a high-end seafood or fine-dining restaurant.
- Hospitality or restaurant management qualification is an advantage.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of POS systems, stock control, and financial management.
- Passion for the hospitality industry and seafood cuisine.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-energy environment.
