Job Summary:We are seeking a qualified and experienced Plumber with a Trade Certificate to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems while complying with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, drainage systems, and sanitary/ablution facilities, hot water geysers and water fountains.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and faulty pipes.
• Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems and perform preventive maintenance.
• Repair or replace defective pipes, valves, taps, geysers, toilets, and other plumbing components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and building plans to determine plumbing layouts.
• Install and maintain geysers, boilers, and hot water systems.
• Test plumbing systems for leaks and ensure all connections meet regulatory standards.
• Work with contractors, engineers, and other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Keep records of all plumbing maintenance and repairs performed.
Minimum Requirements:
• Trade Certificate in Plumbing from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on plumbing experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, water supply, drainage, and sanitation.
• Familiarity with plumbing codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Ability to use plumbing tools and equipment effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit and able to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
• Valid driver’s license (advantageous but not mandatory).
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
• Experience with pipe fitting, welding, and pump installations.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Basic understanding of related trades such as electrical and HVAC systems (advantageous).
Working Conditions:
• May be required to work in different environments, including construction sites and existing buildings.
• Work may involve lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces or at heights.
• Availability for emergency call-outs and after-hours work may be required.
