Job Description
the ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up machines on production lines and ensuring that the machines achieve the required output speeds with minimal waste.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a machine operator
- Experience with Triumph machines is advantageous
- Knowledge of bag-making processes, packing, and flexographic printing processes is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Set up machines and maintain machine setup standards within the business
- Perform changeovers between product lines
- Conduct operator maintenance on machines
- Plan efficient workflows to meet production targets and deadlines
- Diagnose and resolve faults
- Monitor quality
- Optimize the utilization of resources to ensure minimal waste, maximum productivity, and work efficiency
- Adhere to all Health and Safety legislative requirements and meet required standards
- Conduct routine daily analyses
- Manage and establish all standards for product evaluation
- Facilitate training for machine operators to meet required standards
Skills & Competencies
- Good planning and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Proficient in computer literacy (MS Office)
- Ability to multitask and work independently under pressure
- Self-driven and self-motivated with a passion for paper bag manufacturing or other packaging production environments
