Description:
Hire Resolve's Client seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical systems within a steel manufacturing environment. The role involves ensuring optimal system performance, reliability, and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Develop electrical systems and components for steel manufacturing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Installation & Setup: Supervise the installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety protocols.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and diagnose electrical faults in machinery and equipment, resolving issues efficiently.
- Reliability & Availability: Implement preventive maintenance schedules and conduct inspections to enhance system reliability and minimize disruptions.
- Performance Optimization: Work towards maximizing equipment efficiency and minimizing downtime by collaborating with production teams.
- Safety & Risk Management: Identify potential risks and hazards, implementing strategies for fault detection and mitigation.
- Data Analysis & Improvement: Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and apply predictive maintenance techniques to enhance plant reliability.
- Machinery Oversight: Manage and maintain medium to heavy current machinery, including transformers, switchgear, motors, generators, and turbines.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and modifications to electrical systems.
- Collaboration & Support: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, providing technical support and training where necessary.
Requirements
- Education: B-Eng. Degree (NQF 8/10) in Electrical Engineering.
- Certification: Government Certificate of Competency (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Capital project initiation and management.
- Project management expertise.
- Experience with SAP PS and PM modules, including maintenance planning.
- Reliability Engineering experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office and engineering-related software tools.
- Personal Attributes:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with analytical and coordination abilities.
- Technically adept with a hands-on approach to problem resolution.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments.
