Description:

Our client in the Automotive Industry, based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to add a Handyman Assistant (tiling, carpentry, plumbing) to their team.

Requirements:

Grade 12 Certificate. Up to 1 year Maintenance experience in manufacturing environment. Must have Handyman experience, doing tiling, carpentry, or basic plumbing etc.

Responsibilities:

Repairs:

Assists Handyman with root cause of failures and takes action to rectify failure by performing repairs in a speedy manner. Assists with repairs and maintenance by the application of relevant technical and engineering standard. Assists Handyman with identifying potential problems in a proactive manner. Support provided to Handyman as required to contribute to task completion. Support provided to identify root cause of maintenance work required and rectifying faults or problems. Assistance rendered to Handyman during repairs in a safe and timely manner. Proactive identification and reporting of problems.

Maintenance:

Performs routine inspections. Communicates with Handyman to arrange maintenance time. Assists Handyman to make sure availability of parts to perform / execute maintenance routines. Routine inspections performed in accordance with set standards. Maintenance performed in accordance with schedules. Parts available to perform duties.

Compliance:

Operates within procedures to ensure the integrity. Reports areas of concern to management within own operating area. Concerns / issues / problems reported in a timely manner.

Staff Services:

Assists employees and maintains effective working relationships. Identifies and solves problems within own operating area in line with core values. Concerns / issues / problems reported in a timely manner.

Cost and Waste Control:

Assists in minimising damage, loss, or waste. Report incidents to direct Manager. Damage, waste, or loss minimized. Concerns / issues / problems reported in a timely manner.
