Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the therapy team to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality therapy services. Ensure the competence and ongoing development of staff members. Promote customer satisfaction by addressing complaints, conducting quality care rounds, and implementing continuous improvements. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks within the unit. Effectively manage the unit's financial resources, including equipment and supplies. Coordinate the weekly therapy team meetings and actively participate in weekly management and bi-monthly rehabilitation meetings. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with doctors and external stakeholders. Requirements:
A relevant health professional qualification (NQF Level 7). A postgraduate qualification in Management or a relevant Master's Degree would be an advantage. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a therapist. Compulsory Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 3-5 yrs Clinical therapy expertise in an acute hospital setting. Previous experience in managing a therapy unit is preferred. Proven ability to resolve conflicts and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Skilled in compiling and reviewing clinical reports for medical funders (including admission, progress, and discharge reports). Experience in liaising with stakeholders and medical funders is essential.
