We are looking for a dynamic skilled, experienced and trade qualified Refrigeration Technician with strong technical savvy in maintenance, service and repairs of various types of Refrigeration Systems.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES)
As an Refrigeration Technician , your expertise will drive top-tier service delivery. Expect to:
- The mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnosing of equipment and control systems.
- The maintenance/servicing of equipment.
- The repair of equipment.
- Handle confidential and non-routine information
- Tests and/or troubleshoots a variety of items dependent on specific trade expertise for the purpose of assessing item functioning and recommending repair or replacement
- Liaising with clients regarding requirements, quality and, completion of work.
- Completing technical service records.
- Skills transfer/development of junior staff
- Accurate administration w.r.t. Time sheets, vehicle records, etc.
- Communication with SFI helpdesk to provide accurate feedback
- Active contribution to improvement of procedures, policies and productivity.
- Conduct electrical and/or electronic tests on equipment and control systems.
- Strip equipment (if required) to determine faults.
- Be available to work extended hours and weekends on an as needed basis;
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Builds and maintains a work atmosphere of trust and respect by establishing open communication among team members
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years refrigeration industry experience after obtaining your Refrigeration Trade Qualification.
- Commercial refrigeration experience
- Experience and Exposure to:
- Freezer room / cold rooms package units
- Ice machines and chilled water systems
- Display Chillers
- Various Split Unit Installations
- Adherence to SLA and contractual terms of services
- Experience in staff supervision.
- Ability to work independently
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Commercial Refrigeration Trade Certificate
- Safe Handling Practitioner Certificate
- Valid Driver’s License (essential for site visits)
