We are on the lookout for a Senior BI and Data Solutions Engineer to join our Information Technology Shared Services division in Bryanston , playing a key role in delivering cutting-edge analytics solutions that drive success.
About the Role
As a Senior BI and Data Solutions Engineer , you will be at the forefront of AVI’s Business Intelligence strategy, leveraging your expertise to develop and implement high-impact analytics solutions. Reporting to the Business Analytics Manager , you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize BI systems that enable data-driven decision-making. Your ability to turn complex data challenges into streamlined solutions using the Microsoft BI stack will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and self-service analytics tools .
- Define and implement best practices for BI architecture, data integration, and analytics solutions .
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to BI developers, ensuring adherence to SDLC best practices .
- Optimize data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure accurate, timely, and scalable data delivery.
- Partner with Business Analysts and key stakeholders to translate business needs into robust BI solutions.
- Maintain and enhance the data warehouse environment , ensuring its efficiency and scalability.
- Champion data governance, quality, and integrity across the organization.
- Stay ahead of emerging BI trends and technologies to drive continuous innovation.
What We’re Looking For
- 8-10 years of IT experience , with at least 6 years in BI development .
- Expertise in the Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, SQL Server, Power BI, Power Pivot, Power View).
- Strong SQL scripting and data modeling
- Proven experience working with SAP R/3 ERP back-end .
- Hands-on experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and performance optimization .
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a strategic and analytical mindset .
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams .
