Description:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company's operational functions to ensure efficiency, growth, and profitability.

Reporting directly to the Executive Committee, the COO will lead and manage three Regional Heads based in the Western Cape, Gauteng, and Eastern Cape, guiding them in proactive decision-making aligned with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, structures, and processes that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Oversee capital expenditure planning and execution, including budgeting, approvals, and project delivery. Ensure CAPEX projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Lead and support the Regional Heads in the Western Cape, Gauteng, and Eastern Cape. Ensure regional operations align with company standards and objectives, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute long-term business strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the property investment sector while collaborating with our internal Growth & Acquisitions team.
  • Work closely with the Financial Manager to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance. Ensure operational activities are aligned with financial goals and objectives.
  • Liaise with internal departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and effectiveness. Implement corrective actions as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, partners, and regulatory bodies. Represent the company in negotiations, conferences, and industry events.

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Property studies, Finance, or a related field.
  2. 10 years of senior management experience in the property investment or real estate industry. Proven track record in operational leadership and regional management.
  3. Skills:
  4. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  5. Excellent strategic planning and organizational skills.
  6. Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial analysis.
  7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  9. Proficiency in relevant software and technology platforms.
