Description:
Newly Qualified Mechanical Fitter. The ideal candidate should have experience with pumps, gearboxes, and motors, with welding skills being advantageous. The candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and meet the required technical standards.- Disassemble and inspect pumps for faults and damage.
- Assess damage and determine required repairs.
- Compile reports on required spare parts for repairs.
- Conduct pump repairs in accordance with industry standards.
- Perform alignments on fixtures and equipment.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of clearances and tolerances.
- Read and interpret General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Assist in welding tasks, including the construction of base plates as per drawings (beneficial but not mandatory).
- Assist with basic fabrication tasks such as cutting, grinding, and drilling.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist with stock take as required.
- Be available for overtime work when necessary, both in the workshop and on-site.
- Operate company vehicles when needed (valid driver's license required).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, reporting issues and documenting work done.
- Maintain a professional and sober working approach.
- Have reliable personal transportation to and from work.
