Description:
As a waitress or waitron, you are the first and last person our clients interact with on a day-to-day basis. You are our service champion, and you are responsible for embodying the Ou Meul culture as well as the Ou Meul values.
You need to be able to take orders, process them, deliver food and beverages that are up to the Ou Meul Standard. You also need to know what to do when a drink or meal is not up to standard.
List of Responsibilities & duties, including but not limited to:
●Follow all company procedures and adhere to company policies
●Completing daily checklists and duties
●Take phone calls and messages from clients
●Greet and seat customers
●Provide excellent customer service
●Full menu knowledge including all drinks, main menu items, limited menu items.
●Full Retail, Deli, Bakery knowledge
●Learn and understand allergens.
●Understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian meals
● Answer questions from customers
●The ability to handle basic complaints
●Make sure tables are cleaned as quickly as possible
●Share information with customers about the status of their orders (sit down and take away)
●Verify customers are satisfied with their orders (sit down and take away)
●Up-selling additional products to customers
●In-depth knowledge on how to use the POS system (ring up items, where everything is on the POS, how to close cash, card and snap-scan payments, understanding the different pay-types)
●Must understand how to operate a card machine
●Must understand how to accept snap-scan payments
●Communicate customer orders to kitchen staff
●Attend scheduled team or shift meetings
●Ensure that all breakages are reported to the manager on duty.
●Follow company procedures on Health & Safety and Food Safety
●Ensuring the restaurant is clean and hygiene is up to standard.
●Ensuring personal hygiene is up to standard.
●Refilling condiments
●Follow daily cleaning procedures for the store.
●General cleanliness of the store i.e. Floor is litter free; Windows are dust and dirt free; Special boards are dust and dirt free.
●Can assist with stock take by counting FOH items (bakery, retail, deli etc)
●Making sure FOH staff are trained and kept up to date with any new products or procedures
●Report accidents or relevant incidents to management.
●Understanding what to do when an accident occurs.
●Must always have a friendly, professional attitude toward colleagues and management.
