A new opportunity has just become available in our Old Khaki Department for a resilient, innovative and thorough Garment Technologist who can add value to our Old Khaki .
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to significantly contribute towards the achievement of our department and business objectives as well as have the high energy levels required for this fast-paced, exciting and dynamic retail environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Product development inline with brand requirements and specifications
- Accurate tech pack submission to suppliers.
- Owning the sample sealing process from the initial development samples through to bulk production.
- Leading fit reviews seasonally
- Pattern Grading inline with brand and customer specifications
- Provide technical support to the Design team
- Manage and update pattern block library and grade rules
- Manage stringent garment quality standards
- QA report management
- Supplier management development
- Solution driven investigation into quality queries
- Liaise with Distribution Centre QC team on approvals & quality issues
- Liaise with local and overseas factories on sample approvals and quality related queries
- Local supplier visits and quality audits
Requirements
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Required
- Grade 12
- Tertiary fashion design/clothing/textile/garment construction qualification
- Factory experience (advantageous)
- Preference will be given to candidates who have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- A valid driver’s license (advantage)
- Experience working in a clothing retail environment
- Knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is required
- Medium to high level of Excel experience (advantageous)
- A working knowledge of garment/pattern construction is essential
