Minimum Job Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture or Supply Chain. Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in Agricultural Commodity Procurement. Understanding of commodity hedging fundamentals. Proven ability to build and maintain farmer relationships. Good analytical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
Report to the Procurement Manager:
Direct Sourcing Implementation: Execute established direct-from-farm sourcing plans Co-ordinate direct-from-farm deliveries Develop and implement farmer engagement programs to increase direct supply base Implement pricing models within approved parameters Maintain seasonal procurement schedules Monitor and report on procurement performance. Supply Chain Co-ordination: Balance direct-from-farm purchases with trader supply Co-ordinate direct-from-farm collections Monitor inventory levels Report supply chain issues to management. Risk Management & Hedging: Execute hedging activities within parameters defined by the Hedging Committee. Monitor futures markets and report on market conditions. Implement risk management procedures and policies. Maintain hedging documentation. Maintain and report on all hedge positions and transactions. Report on hedge positions and effectiveness. Recommend adjustments to Hedging Committee based on market conditions. Relationship Management: Build and develop strong relationships with farming community Organise and lead farmer meetings and educational sessions Maintain regular farmer communication Implement feedback collection Identify opportunities for relationship strengthening. Quality Control & Compliance: Follow quality control procedures Maintain documentation including traceability and certification requirements Report quality issues Monitor basic compliance requirements.
