A leading steel manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead asset reliability, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives at a high-performance production facility. This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity to manage maintenance teams, optimize plant performance, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Requirements:
B-Degree (NQF 8/10) in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial preferred) Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) – Factories Experience managing maintenance operations in complex production plants Proficiency in maintenance management systems (SAP, Maximo, or equivalent) Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and asset optimization 6+ years of experience in industrial maintenance management Minimum of 3 years in a managerial roleKey Responsibilities:
Asset Reliability & Maintenance Planning: Lead preventative, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs to maximize plant uptime SHERQ & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHERQ) regulations Production Support: Work closely with production managers to adapt maintenance schedules and minimize operational disruptions Budget & Cost Management: Develop and manage the total maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance operations Continuous Improvement & CAPEX Initiatives: Implement lean maintenance strategies and drive capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects Stakeholder Engagement: Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive value-added partnerships Leadership & Workforce Development: Coach, mentor, and develop high-potential maintenance personnel Technology & Systems Management: Oversee the integration of advanced maintenance management systems (SAP, Maximo, or equivalent)
