Position Title: Fire Suppression Design Engineer / Draughtsman

They are seeking a skilled Fire Suppression Design Engineer / Draughtsman to join their team in Boksburg. This role is ideal for someone with experience in designing fire suppression systems, understanding fire safety protocols, and delivering high-quality technical drawings and designs for fire safety solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Drafting:
Create detailed designs for fire suppression systems, including sprinkler systems, gas suppression systems, water mist systems, and other relevant fire protection systems. Develop AutoCAD or Revit drawings for fire suppression system layouts, schematics, and installation plans. Conduct calculations for hydraulic design, pipe sizing, and pressure loss to ensure effective fire suppression system design. Prepare technical drawings and schematics in compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and client specifications.Project Coordination:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure the fire suppression design aligns with overall project goals. Assist in the selection of appropriate materials and components for fire suppression systems based on design criteria and project needs. Prepare system specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and cost estimations for system installations.Compliance and Safety Standards:
Ensure all designs comply with national and international fire safety standards and regulations, including SANS, NFPA, and other relevant codes. Assist with site surveys and assessments to gather relevant data for the design and installation of fire suppression systems.Client Interaction and Reporting:
Provide technical support to clients and internal teams, including answering queries related to fire suppression systems and designs. Review design proposals with clients to ensure alignment with expectations and specifications.Quality Control:
Review completed designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Conduct inspections and audits of fire suppression system installations to confirm design integrity.Required Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Fire Engineering, or a related field (for Fire Suppression Design Engineer).
