Description:
Key Accountabilities- Adherence to TQMS by timeous completion of actions and keeping to agreed timelines
- Contribute to the planning, design, construction and commissioning of new equipment and
- process trends as required by the Operations Manager and QA Department
- Plan and carry out maintenance budget and budget forecasts
- Manage CAPEX & Turnkey projects
- Ensure effectiveness in day-to-day operations, in an organised and always coordinated
- fashion
- Ensure that all company standards and policies are met
- Work collaboratively. This requires the incumbent to be decisive and thought provoking, while also accepting collective responsibility for decisions taken
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of Quality System, brand, methodology and contribute to the development thereof when required
- Perform other duties that support wider business objectives as required by the
- Maintain building and premises as per operational requirements and ensure all
- correspondence with landlord are documented and communicated
- Assist team leaders in urgent maintenance matters to ensure that product/s can be done on
- time and according to the production schedule. This could include working after hours and
- calling-outs
Knowledge / Experience:
- Must be able to effectively and safely operate maintenance tools and equipment (such as grinder, drill, electrical saw, welder etc.)
- Requires sound experience with welding
- Sound electrical and plumbing experience and knowledge
- Excellent knowledge and experience in maintenance of refrigerator systems
- Should be able to operate an HVAC system, RO System and Chlorination system
- Good knowledge of filtration systems
- Implementing and sustaining preventative maintenance program
- Experience with working in clean room facilities and hygienic handling of processing equipment would be advantageous
Competencies / Skills / Attributes Required:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including flexibility and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Must be hands-on, very good knowledge of manufacturing equipment (pumps; valves; boilers HVAC; PLC etc.) and able to lead technical assistants
- Excellent computer skills, advanced Excel and Word competency
- At least 5 years maintenance managerial experience
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Good knowledge of OHSA
- Handling of Hazardous materials
- Ethical and personal integrity
Requirements & Qualification
- Qualified Artisan (Millwright, Fitter, Electrician and Boiler maker) and Industrial or mechanical Engineer is preferred
- Pharmaceutical or Food manufacturing background is highly advantage
