Our client, a leading motor vehicle dealer group with a strong presence in East Africa and its head office in Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to oversee and enhance the IT operations of a well-established automotive group.As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s information technology operations. This includes planning and implementing IT policies, ensuring the security and efficiency of IT systems, and aligning technology initiatives with the company’s strategic goals. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, optimizing IT infrastructure, and supporting the group’s dealership networks. Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations of network infrastructure, servers, and systems, including hardware and software maintenance, upgrades, and backups.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect data and systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, including system implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, hardware, and software to identify improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand business needs and ensure IT initiatives align with strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to mitigate potential disruptions and data loss.
- Develop SLAs for ITCs in-country and ensure adherence to group policies.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in an IT Manager role.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience within the automotive industry is highly advantageous.
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems.
- Strong technical expertise in network administration, server management, security protocols, and cloud computing.
- Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration, and network installation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor IT projects.
- Understanding of business operations and the ability to align IT strategies with business goals.
