The Creditors Manager will oversee the financial cost of sales for the group, reviewing and verifying vendor invoice details, and processing payments to vendors or contractors.
As a Creditors Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to IFRS for SMEs.
- Contribute to the annual audit process for the group, including pre-audit meetings and coordinating with Finance Managers.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as Shipping Lines, within established guidelines.
- Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress updates and highlight any problem areas to the FM/Group FM.
- Identify opportunities for improvement by evaluating current business trends, researching best practices, and applying relevant principles.
- Collaborate closely with all business units to foster positive feedback loops and continuous improvements.
- Work alongside managers and teams to coach and mentor staff, developing their skills and professional growth.
- Enhance cross-functional team collaboration through clear, focused, and effective communication.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, trends, and developments by engaging in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in relevant networks and organizations.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and system improvements.
- Continuously assess systems and propose improvements to the FM.
- Embrace new technologies, such as transitioning to a paperless environment, where applicable.
- Support the FM in executing the finance strategy, ensuring alignment with operational goals, plans, and policies.
- Guide and support teams to ensure consistency with the overall business strategy.
- Mentor key personnel, fostering their professional growth and assisting with their duties as needed.
- Oversee the management of direct reports, ensuring efficient resource capacity and cross-skill growth.
- Focus on developing individuals by building on their core strengths and skills, maintaining a healthy talent pool for the business unit.
- Promote participative leadership, strong communication, and collaboration within the team.
- Foster collaboration with all business areas and encourage coaching and peer-to-peer learning.
Completed Matric. (Mathematics and Accounting)
Completed Bcom in Accounting would be beneficial.
3 – 5 years of experience in a similar role.
