ROLE OVERVIEWThe Payroll Administrator is responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time, processing pay roll, managing deductions, and maintaining accurate pay roll records. The role involves collaborating with HR and Finance teams, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and addressing employee payroll inquiries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monthly preparation of payroll import files (calculate overtime, bonuses, and deductions accurately)
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of employee salaries
- Ensure payroll is in compliance with local tax laws and regulations
- Preparing and filing of payroll related taxes
- Generate and review payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Provide payroll-related information to the Finance department for budgeting and forecasting
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, including salary discrepancies, deductions, and benefits.
- Assist with the on-boarding and off-boarding process to ensure that payroll records are up to date for new hires and terminated employees
SKILL SET AND DESIRED COMPETENCIES
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role
- Knowledge of payroll software and systems (Sage Advantageous)
- Strong understanding of payroll, tax regulations, and labour laws
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- University Undergraduate Degree with a finance focus
- Honours Degree advantageous
- Work experience advantageous
- Strong academic track record required
