A growing SME looking for an Accountant to grow with the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Duties:
- Oversee the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
- Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, preparing all required documentation and liaising with external auditors.
- Implement and maintain internal control processes to safeguard company assets and enhance financial efficiency.
- Develop financial forecasts and reports to support strategic decision-making.
Administrative Management:
- Oversee and manage all administrative functions, including office operations, facilities management, and procurement.
- Develop, implement, and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and systems to ensure organisational efficiency.
- Supervise and manage support staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Maintain accurate and organised records for both financial and administrative purposes.
- Coordinate with external vendors, service providers, and stakeholders to meet organisational needs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labour laws, and health and safety regulations.
Leadership and Coordination:
- Work closely with leadership to align financial and administrative strategies with organisational goals.
- Provide regular financial and operational updates to management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommendations for improvement.
- Lead cross-departmental collaboration to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
- Support staff training and development in finance and administrative processes where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-function accounting.
- Experience in administrative management or a similar role is highly desirable.
- Skills :
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
