Electrician

Summary purpose/expectations:

The purpose of the role is to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components within a factory industry. Working with a variety of electrical and equipment, factory wiring, and fixtures to ensure the safe and effective distribution of electricity.

Key Deliverables:

Installation of Electrical Systems:

• Update industrial blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics electrical plan and installations.
• Repair and install wiring systems: lighting, power distribution, and other electrical components, generators, and machinery.
• Conduct daily tests on electrical systems and machinery using specified equipment.
• Upgrade existing electrical machinery and electrical systems to meet current standards and technological advancements.
• Maintenance on high voltage power lines and bundle cable.

Maintenance and Repairs:

• Constant electrical troubleshoot and diagnoses.
• Perform routine maintenance and checks to ensure the appropriate functioning of electrical systems.
• Retrofit old systems to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Repair general faulty wiring, equipment, or fixtures, electrical control panels, etc.
• Preserve precise records of work performed, including diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• MV Line maintenance and construction.

Codes and Regulations Compliance:

• Adhere national electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ensure that installations meet quality and safety standards.
  
  

Health and Safety:

• Ensure safety procedures and equipment are maintained.
• Ensure a health and safe work environment.

Requirements:

• N3 with red seal or higher qualification.
• Qualified electrician with a trade test certificate.
• At least 5 years as an electrician.
• Sound knowledge in 11 and 22kv reticulations.
• Knowledge of 11 and 22kv terminations and joints.
• Knowledge of transformer maintenance and installation.
• Sound knowledge of AC Invertors and soft starters.
• PLC and smart relay experience will be an advantage.
• Must be able to work on heights.

• Applicant should be located to Marikana Spessori / SA Citizen Valid SA code 08 driver licence and own transport.

Requirements:
