28 Psychologist (P7) (3 Positions) STUDENT AFFAIRS│ Health Care and Psychological Services Bloemfontein Campus Main purpose of the jobTo manage, implement, monitor, and provide professional Wellness interventions & programs to both students and staff at the University. Furthermore, to ensure and provide professional therapeutic services to students and staff with effective referrals to outside EAP services.
Main tasks
- Develop policies and procedures and represent the Wellness Centre to ensure that the Academic Support Services provided are compliant with legislation and the University's requirements.
- Assist with forming strategic partnerships and working agreements with internal and external service providers.
- Oversee and provide workshops and Wellness Projects
- Compile and submit reports.
- Provision of counselling services
- Manage Monitor and provide general wellness services to staff and students.
- Manage the performance and development of staff in the sub-unit.
Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company): R 956 841 per annum (2025 salary scales to be confirmed).

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience
- Master’s degree in psychology with HPCSA registration as a Counselling Psychologist.
- Three (3) years’ experience in the provision of student services in a higher education or similar environment.
- Registered as a Counselling Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Knowledge of relevant medical legislation and ethical codes.
- Understanding of key Higher Education Institutional Systems and Structures.
- Understanding of South African Higher Education Policy framework.
- Project Management & Report Writing Skills.
- Proficient in Excel & Word (Intermediate Level).
- Research capabilities.
- PhD Degree in Counselling Psychology with HPCSA registration.
- 3 years’ experience in the provision of student services in a higher education or similar environment.
