Key Responsibilities:Accounting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. General Ledger Management: Process journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and reconcile accounts regularly. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate processing and timely payments. Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, addressing and resolving discrepancies promptly. Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management. Inventory Management: Collaborate with the operations team to ensure accurate recording of inventory movements and periodic stock counts. Tax and VAT Compliance: Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns while ensuring tax-related compliance. Audit Support: Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits. General Administrative Tasks: Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required by the finance department. Requirements:
Education:
A relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., BCom Accounting, Diploma in Accounting). Partly qualified or currently pursuing SAIPA / SAICA or similar certification would be advantageous. Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the FMCG sector. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with accounting software ( Pastel, Syspro, or similar systems) is essential. Skills:
Strong analytical and numerical skills. Attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications. Ability to work independently and within a team.
