Description:
· Ensure CPS machines performance meets or exceed customer’s contractual Service Level Agreement
· Comply with all procedures within the Service Engineer ‘s procedural manual (Cobra, Large Sorter or Field Service Engineer manual)
· Maintain customer satisfaction at the highest level by carrying out corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with the CPS standard procedure
· Responsible for providing a speedy first-time fix to all breakdowns through methodical diagnosis, corrective action and through testing
· Carrying out planned & daily Preventative Maintenance in line with OEM requirements. This includes:
Calibrating of detectors
Servicing the feeder at regular intervals
Refurbishing parts to optimise profit margins and reduce cost
Escalating any difficulties experienced according to the times set out in the escalation procedure.
Ensure that all sorting systems failures are escalated to helpdesk immediately and the site Technical Support Manager is notified of such an event
Remain focused on the objective of returning a faulty/impaired machine to full operation when faced with any difficult high-pressure situation in a customer environment.
Travelling to Client outside boarders South Africa to support the contractual clients and do upgrades
Support the with training department and workshop when it comes to training and testing the components.
Upkeep the training machines to good working standard
· Maintain stock inventory control by keeping the parts usage, parts request, parts transfers, part refurbishments and stock control paperwork update; and using the CPS application properly and accurately.
· Management of spares stock levels - effective management of minimum and maximum spares held
· Using the minimum spares possible without compromising quality
· Replacing into stock worn parts and spares as and when required
· Using the 'just in time' principal to avoid high and excessive stock holding
· Ensuring that spares are ordered on time according to the min/max stock levels to avoid emergency stock orders
· Managing site stock usage
· Keeping proper records in the spares stock book/stock computer programme of all spare’s usages at the time of use
· Avoiding stock variations and differences between actual stock levels and control record levels
· Ensuring that tools are used properly and are accounted for
· Actively participate in the Global Refurbishment project following the step-by-step process in the refurbishment manuals ensuring the quality of refurbishments are never compromised.
· Accurately capturing each Machine's daily performance report on to the data sheet
· Reporting machine downtime in the downtime register and verifying it weekly with the cash centre and email the downtown report to the Service Manager.
· Checking and testing all machines in line with the prescribed daily checklist
· Any variations during checking and testing must be escalated immediately and every half an hour, until resolved
· Report all incidents, events or escalation to Helpdesk and or Manager in writing to maintain an audit trail.
· Advising immediate superior when new equipment, processes or meetings take place that contain valuable information

Requirements:
Ø Educated to a Diploma or equivalent standard (to include Maths and English)
Ø This Diploma is highly preferable but may not be essential if the incumbent has the experience required under the “experience” heading.
Ø PC literate (Fully proficient with Windows, MS office, particularly Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook)
Ø Have an understanding/experience of:
i. Mechanical
ii. Electronics
iii. Information Technology
Ø Understanding of AC/DC power distribution
Ø Ability to read logic diagrams and mechanical drawings
Ø Logical trouble shooting skills and capability to isolate problems at PCB or component level
Ø Knowledge of DOS and note sorters technology will be an advantage
· Experience
Ø 3+ years mechanical field experience
Ø 3+ years experience of working in a customer facing environment
Ø Some travel required by any mean appropriate (Car, Public Transport or Air)
Ø Working on Saturdays and Standby on Customer requests
Ø Lifting/carrying heavy items
Ø Climbing under over machinery
Ø Working in confined spaces
Ø Exposure to dusty environment
