About the Role
Geocentric Urban Management is seeking a dynamic and dedicated City Improvement District (CID) Manager to oversee operations and drive urban improvement initiatives within our CID/BID areas. This role requires a proactive leader who is passionate about urban management, public safety, and community development.
As a CID Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring managing service providers and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including City of Cape Town officials, local businesses, and law enforcement agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and implement the CID/BID business plan, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Manage and monitor service provider contracts, ensuring compliance with SLAs and SOPs.
Build and maintain relationships with municipal authorities, law enforcement, and business owners.
Conduct on-site inspections of security patrol officers and ensure efficient service delivery.
Enhance public safety through coordination of security interventions, intelligence sharing, and joint operations with SAPS and law enforcement.
Improve urban management services, including cleaning, road maintenance, lighting, signage, and illegal dumping prevention.
Develop and execute social development strategies to uplift communities within the CID/BID.
Compile detailed reports and feedback for internal management and external stakeholders.
Promote the CID/BID brand through engagement with businesses, media, and the public sector.
Requirements
Matric (NQF 4) (a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous).
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a CID/BID or related urban management role or safety and security background.
Knowledge of public safety and urban management services.
Understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act (advantageous).
Experience in building and facility management (advantageous).
Strong administrative, negotiation, and report-writing skills.
Proficiency in English and Afrikaans (written & verbal).
Must be computer literate with excellent communication abilities.
Valid driver’s license.
