Sous Chef – 4-Star Hotel, Cape Town
A new 4-star hotel in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. This is a key leadership role in the kitchen, requiring creativity, precision, and strong management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations. Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage food costs efficiently. Maintain kitchen hygiene and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Train and mentor junior chefs, fostering a positive and professional work environment. Ensure consistency in food production and adherence to portion control. Step in for the Executive Chef in their absence and handle daily kitchen operations.Requirements:
South African ID or valid work permit. 2-4 years' experience in a similar role within a 4 or 5-star hotel. A formal culinary qualification from a recognized institution is preferred. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations, stock control, and food safety. Creativity and passion for developing new menu items. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.To Apply:
