Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, ventilation, and extraction systems in an abattoir environment. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems. Monitor and adjust temperature controls to comply with meat storage and processing standards. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and part replacements. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and health and safety standards. Collaborate with the maintenance team to address facility-wide issues.

Requirements:

Trade Certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Air Conditioning. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician, preferably in an industrial or abattoir setting. Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, cooling towers, and ventilation systems. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues. Understanding of regulatory requirements for temperature control in meat processing facilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to handle equipment and work in varying temperatures. Valid drivers license and ability to respond to after-hours emergencies if required.
