Description:
Minimum Requirements:- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years in engineering geology, with a strong background in geotechnical investigations.
- Extensive experience in geotechnical site investigations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical design recommendations.
- Strong understanding of soil and rock mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and groundwater assessment.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software is advantageous (e.g., SLIDE, DIPS, Rocscience or similar).
- Experience in managing teams, projects, and client relationships.
- Registration with a recognized engineering/geological professional body is preferred (e.g., Pr.Sci.Nat, CEng, PrEng or equivalent)
Duties will be, but are not limited to:
- Manage and oversee the Geotechnical Investigation Department, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality deliverables. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and geotechnical engineers.
- Lead and coordinate geotechnical site investigations, from planning to execution and reporting. Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.
- Supervise and conduct soil, rock, and groundwater investigations, including borehole drilling, test pits, and in-situ testing.
- Evaluate geotechnical and geological conditions, including soil and rock mechanics, hydrogeology, and slope stability.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and foundation recommendations for infrastructure, buildings, and other civil engineering projects.
- Ensure all geotechnical investigations comply with local and international standards and best practices.
- Identifying and pursuing new project opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, preparing proposals and bids, and strategically positioning the firm for growth
